Wrapped Halloween Brie turns creamy brie and buttery puff pastry into a spooky little mummy, complete with golden, flaky bandages and creepy eyes. Warm and gooey from the oven, it’s an easy Halloween appetizer that disappears almost as quickly as the candy.

Mummy Baked Brie
This is one of those Halloween recipes that looks like you put in far more effort than you actually did. Strips of puff pastry turn a simple wheel of brie into a bandaged mummy, while the oven does the rest of the work.
As it bakes, the pastry turns golden and flaky while the brie inside gets warm, soft and gloriously melty. A couple of eyes finish the look without getting too fussy. I used one of my Halloween decorations to serve it!
Halloween Party Food
This is a fun one to put out for a Halloween party, add to an appetizer spread or serve before the trick-or-treaters start arriving. And because it’s essentially baked brie in puff pastry, it’s not just about looking cute—it tastes pretty darn good, too.
Serve it warm with crackers, sliced baguette, apple or pear slices, and let everyone dig in.

Baked brie is pretty forgiving, especially when wrapped in puff pastry. Here’s a few tips to help.
TIPS FOR THE BEST BAKED BRIE
- Keep the puff pastry cold. It’s easier to cut and wrap and will puff up better in the oven.
- Leave the rind on the brie. It helps hold the cheese together as it warms and melts.
- Don’t wrap it too tightly. Loosely overlap the pastry strips so they look like mummy bandages and have room to puff.
- Brush with egg wash. This gives the pastry that gorgeous golden finish.
- Watch for escaping cheese. A little ooze is perfectly fine, but make sure the bottom and sides have enough pastry coverage to keep most of the brie contained.
- Let it rest for a few minutes. Give it 5–10 minutes after baking so the cheese is still gooey but doesn’t completely flood the board when you cut into it.
