Baked Ham with Pomegranate Molasses Glaze

Ingredients

  • 4-5 lb bone in ham

Pomegranate Molasses Glaze

  • 1/2 cup pomegranate molasses
  • zest from one orange
  • juice from one orange
  • 2 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1-2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Remove ham from refrigerator and let stand on baking sheet with a rack. Using a sharp knife, score the fat on top in a diamond pattern.
  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Mix together your pomegranate glaze.

Pomegranate Molasses Glaze

  • In a bowl or cup mix together pomegranate molasses through salt.
  • Using a barbecue or pastry brush, cover the top of the ham with the glaze. Add water to the bottom of the pan and roast for 1.5 - 2 hours or until meat thermometer reads 160 F.
  • Baste with glaze occassionally while roasting. If top of ham is starting to darken too much, tent with foil.
  • Remove ham from oven and loosely cover with foil letting it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving with your favourite sides.
