Shrimp Boil

Course: Entree, lunch, Supper

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp old bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp peppercorns
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges
  • 3-4 ears of corn shucked and cut in half
  • 1/2 ring of kielbasa or some other smoked sausage cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 18-20 baby red potatoes
  • 1 bag 400 gr, shell on, de-veined, quick peel uncooked shrimp
  • 1-2 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 2 garlic cloves minced

Instructions

  • Fill a large pot (like a dutch oven) 3/4 full with water. Bring to a boil. Add old bay seasoning, salt, pepper, half the lemon wedges and stir.
  • Next drop in your corn. 5 minutes later drop in your potatoes. Drop heat to a simmer.
  • -15 minutes later drop in your sausage and simmer another 5-10 minutes.
  • Finally add your shrimp and cook until pink (about 3 minutes).
  • Drain well and pour out on a table with newspaper or a large platter. Garnish with parsley and remaining lemon wedges.
  • Mix melted butter with minced garlic and serve with Shrimp Boil for dipping.
