Wild Rose Brewery & Wild Tea Kombucha collaborate to debut Blushing Brew

0 · Feb 6, 2017 · Leave a Comment

On Wednesday, February 8th, Wild Tea Kombucha and Wild Rose Brewery are launching their limited edition “Blushing Brew” just in time for Valentine’s Day. It’s a blend of hibiscus, rose petal and juniper berry kombucha combined with Wild Rose Brewery Cowbell sour, which makes a colourful, drinkable and unique brew. The result is a flavour that is a bit tart, has a nice earthy tone with a touch of sweetness.

I enjoy supporting local businesses, especially Alberta based ones, so I’ve partnered with Wild Rose Kombucha to help promote this delicious blend while it lasts.

The name Blushing Brew stems from the natural blush rose colour of the drink. A healthier alternative than regular beer, the kombucha adds probiotics and digestive enzymes that help maintain a healthy gut. While it has built a cult following among natural health circles, kombucha is fairly new to the public stage. In simple terms, kombucha is a naturally energizing, lightly effervescent fermented tea.

“We’re very excited for our customers to try out the unique flavor profile in this blend,” says former Canadian Olympic Team Member in Bobsled and Wild Tea Kombucha founder Emily Baadsvik. “It’s a nice light and zesty sipping beer that pairs easily with seafood and poultry dishes.”

Blushing Brew is only available in draft form in Calgary in limited quantities. For the full list of restaurants carrying Blushing Brew and to learn more about Wild Tea Kombucha and Wild Rose Brewery, please visit their websites at www.wildsparklingtea.com and www.wildrosebrewery.com.

About Wild Tea Kombucha

Wild Tea Kombucha was founded in June 2015 by Emily Baadsvik after she transitioned into retirement following the Sochi Winter Olympics. While training on the Canadian National Bobsleigh team, Emily was introduced to kombucha which helped her improve performance during training. Wild Tea brews kombucha using small batch methods producing a product that is raw, unfiltered and unpasteurized and bottled without any added carbonation. Current distribution is throughout Alberta in more than 40 stores and growing.

About Wild Rose Brewery

Wild Rose Brewery is a small craft brewery established in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1996. The brewery prides itself on their beer using all natural, local, unpasteurized ingredients with no preservatives, and a “dash of Alberta attitude”. Wild Rose Beer is only available in Alberta.

Fresh and delicious I loved the taste of the Blushing Brew. It’s hard to believe it’s 5% alcohol content as you can not taste any beer.

Enter below to win a delicious basket of Wild Tea Kombucha and Wild Rose Brewery Cowbell Sours plus other goodies in time for Valentines Day! Contest limited to Calgary only.

I was provided with samples of Wild Tea Kombucha and the Blushing Brew. All opinions remain my own.

  • This Cherry Kiss Hot Chocolate is from @eatdrinkblock and available for #YYCHotChocolateFest!
.
In the first photo the incredibly tasty booze soaked cherries fell in to the hot tub aka hot chocolate. The second photo shows the cherries pre-hot tub.
.
The hot chocolate is missing the marshmallow as they apparently ran out of marshmallows. Hopefully this means they are selling lots of hot cocoa for @yychotchocolatefest!
.
Try this beverage with or without alcohol and partial proceeds go to Calgary Meals on Wheels.

  • Cooking from @donna.hay's #moderncooking #cookbook this month.
.
Made these Burnt Butter and Salted Maple Sticky Buns for the #rainydaybitescookbookclub challenge. Admittedly I took the photo before adding the salt (whoops)! The dough is easy to work with and I let both rises go longer than advised.
.
The glaze for these buns goes both on the bottom and again poured over the buns when they come out of the oven hot. My family loved them and ate most of them as they were a little on the sweet side for me.
.
Lots joining in on this challenge today. Follow the hashtag, #rainydaybitescookbookclub to see everyone's photos for todays challenge!
