When it comes to burgers we’ve tried homemade beef, turkey, chicken and vegetarian burgers. Oddly enough we’ve never tried pork burgers, which brought us to Pork Burgers with Peanut Sauce. When you first read the ingredients list you might go hmmmm…this should be interesting – or at least we did. In the end it’s a very tasty burger that pairs nicely with the peanut sauce.
Omit the cilantro if you are not a cilantro fan. Serve in buns with lettuce, peanut sauce and whatever additional burger fixins you enjoy.
Green Rice is not only the perfect side dish to your St. Patrick’s Day celebration, but also pairs fabulously with grilled meat.
My daughter loves rice, thanks to her dayhome provider who routinely fed the kids rice at lunch. This variation is called Green Rice and tastes very good. Remove the seeds and veins from the jalapeno if you don’t like it spicy and replace cilantro with parsley if you do not care for cilantro.
Fresh and tasty this is a delicious way to enjoy your rice.
This Asian Turkey Noodle Slaw is a great way to use up leftover Turkey, and a spin on an ichiban noodle salad. We love this recipe so much, quite often we will buy fresh turkey fillets or a breast, and saute it with our favourite spices just so we can have it for dinner. Husband and I fight over the last bits since the kids like it only a wee bit (their words). They get a deconstructed noodle slaw on their plate and everyone is happy!
Leftover turkey brings about the best flavour in this dish, however fresh turkey, or even chicken are delicious substitutes. When we make this salad after a big turkey meal, I feel like I am getting back to healthy – somewhat!
